Use the Reserve Bank of Australia's inflation calculator to calculate changes in the cost of purchasing a representative basket of goods and services. The inflation calculator can be used, for example, to show that a representative basket of goods and services costing $10 in 1970 would cost $26.93 in 1980 and $58.71 in 1990.
